EMCCC POWER IS ON

EMCCC will now open on Monday, November 5th at 9am. The power is back on at the child care center. Thank you to everyone for your patience.

EMCCC CLOSED MONDAY, NOVEMBER FIFTH

EMCCC will have to be closed again on Monday, November 5th as a result of no electricity, heat, hot water, and telephone service following the storm. Con Edison is reporting that power should be restored to the child care center by late Monday night. It has been impressed upon them that EMCCC is a child care center serving over a hundred children each day. We are hopeful to be back open on Tuesday as long as the building is fully functional. Every effort is being made to resume all of our programs as soon as possible. We ask for your patience for just a little bit longer. Please keep checking here for updated notices.

EMCCC CLOSING STATUS UPDATE

We sincerely regret the inconvenience that the extended closing of EMCCC has created for so many people. The inside of the building on Sheldon Avenue seems to have weathered the storm intact. There is no apparent damage. Presently the child care center remains without electricity, heat, hot water, and telephone service. As long as that remains the status quo it is unsafe for habitation. We have been in regular contact with Con Edison and the New York State Office of Children & Family Services. Every effort is being made to return to normal operations as soon as possible. We can only provide child care and early education services if it can be done safely and legally.  Alternative solutions for families are being explored should the building have to remain closed much longer. Unfortunately there are no quick solutions to this difficult  situation. We ask for your continued patience as we work towards a solution that will ensure the safety and well being of all the children we are entrusted with. Thank you for your continued support of EMCCC during this difficult time for so many people in our community, state, and country.

UPCOMING BOARD EVENTS

The EMCCC Board of Directors has two very exciting events scheduled during the coming months. The first is the Rivertown Road Rally which will take place on April 21, 2012. It is a unique scavenger hunt being offered as a benefit for the child care center at a cost of $ 45 per participant. The participants, four per car, will follow directions and find clues along the way to the final destination. It all ends with food, music, and a cash bar. It promises to be a whole lot of fun. Additional information can be secured at RoadRally@masciachildcare.org. The Board will also be offering a golf outing, including a dinner, for the first time this year on June 25, 2012. The golf outing will take place at the Salem Country Club which offers a spectacular course. More information about this wonderful event will be released shortly when the save the date cards are sent out.
