EMCCC CLOSING STATUS UPDATE

We sincerely regret the inconvenience that the extended closing of EMCCC has created for so many people. The inside of the building on Sheldon Avenue seems to have weathered the storm intact. There is no apparent damage. Presently the child care center remains without electricity, heat, hot water, and telephone service. As long as that remains the status quo it is unsafe for habitation. We have been in regular contact with Con Edison and the New York State Office of Children & Family Services. Every effort is being made to return to normal operations as soon as possible. We can only provide child care and early education services if it can be done safely and legally.  Alternative solutions for families are being explored should the building have to remain closed much longer. Unfortunately there are no quick solutions to this difficult  situation. We ask for your continued patience as we work towards a solution that will ensure the safety and well being of all the children we are entrusted with. Thank you for your continued support of EMCCC during this difficult time for so many people in our community, state, and country.
